Hotel Stege Bugt

... no lights we were prbably not at our safest point! Finally finding the house just before 11pm our host couple had teh most AMAZING soup waiting for us, one of the best meals i have ever had! I think we smalt so bad from 99 hours cycling we slept in a comfy out house surrounded by plants, so i guess we had been demoted to the green house, but hey, it could have been worse.....

we missed a ferry at Fehmarn, making Copenhagen a little too far. We decided the "city" of Nykobing would probably the best option. The first two we tried we either fully booked or closed (at 10pm). Luckily we found by change hotel Sam, which, despite its name and odd location, was actually pretty good.

... she takes me on a nature walk through a forest and back around to the car by way of the beach! The landscape is beautiful and it feels great to be outside and in nature again. We get back to her house just in time to set up her new barbeque and sit outside on her patio as we grill and enjoy an amazing feast of chicken, Danish sausage, salad, and vegetables. ... of seaweed about. The cliffs were quiet stunning, mainly for the size of them, the first little place we went and looked at them from, didn't really do them justice. Our walk took us around the top of the cliffs up and down little hills, and through wooded areas. We reached a place in the middle of one of the wooded areas where there was a sign saying 474 stairs, we thought, no worries, we can do that, all in training ...

Since we were a few hours ahead of schedule, we stopped to visit the island of Mon, to see the white chalk cliffs. It was about 45min out of the way, almost 2 hrs round trip with leg room. At the museum we had a short 5min hike to see anything, so we didn't have to go too far and get lost. The parking was about 25 kroner but worth it even for our 30min stop. The thatched roof houses were the best part of the country side though.

We have found a place in the middle of nowhere with a beach. But we have to share it with the Jellyfish family from South Hampton. Slipper little buggers they are. They kept following us around and fencing us in when we tried to go for a swim. Once we had made our escape we found some brilliant back roads for the bike to show off to us that it wasn't a dodgy, unreliable heap of tin! Absolutely brilliant! Heading to Copenhagan to see Dave the Turkey from Australia (figure that one out!)

... bonus was the free internet!! Camping grounds in Denmark are remarkably set up and the people are just lovely! The next day we checked out Ribe, the oldest town in Denmark! Right in the centre they have a cathedral which has sunk and now sits almost a meter below the rest of the streets! There were some quite wobbly buildings but the place had a good feel to it! ... WIFI access throughout the trip on the train. While 2nd class has to pay for it, it is included in the 1st class ticket. VERY NICE !!!. We also get lunch and beverages. ... mudderbad. Turen dertil var den hardeste hidtil. Det var -30 og pa vej over Tolevana Dome rog vi ind i en storm. Det var uvirkeligt koldt. Oyvind og Kalle fik begge slemme forfrysninger i ansigtet. Oyvinds ansigt var fyldt med hvide pletter pa den ene side. Vi kom dog igennem det, og begge slap uden alt for store problemer. Jacob
