Dinner last night was at the same restaurant we're at today, Aroma (not to be confused with Aroma Café in Perth or on campus!) and which I have also had the most enormous piece of chocolate cake served in an ocean of chocolate sauce syrup.

... drive (Andrew did an amazing job though!) and after a short rest, walked the 200 metres to the port. We sat with the cool people (Andrew's tracky daks getting only a few stares!) and had a coffee called a Freddo Cappuccino. Fabulous.

Did our food shopping visiting various grocers and mini markets.
Stopped for lunch at a local cafe; lamb chops, pita bread, chips and labneh yoghurt for AU$7.50 plus half a litre of wine for AU$3.25. I thought I was buying a glass of wine but it got lost in translation! The red could only be described as rough but for a few ...

I went to Crete in 2011. We lived in an old white house about 20 minutes outside Chania. While there we rented a car and drove all over the island. I saw the most beautiful beach and we had lovely food and company. The smell of thyme and olives that you just get in Greece is also the most amazing smell. I don't know what else to write other than that i fell in love with Crete as well as i have fallen in love with the rest of Greece.
