... WE LOVED: - Millie thinking she was ordering mochi but being presented with 3 balls of "devil's tongue" (see Day 17!) and a smear of mustard. Disgusting!! After forcing one down and almost throwing it up again, she sneakily hid them in a tissue until she could find a bin! - the BEAUTIFUL surroundings, incredibly peaceful and spiritual, the route even goes past a waterfall - meeting a mountain goat and a snake on the same ...

When we finally arrived at the International Center, everyone was already there. We were late, but it didn't matter too much. No host families were there yet. Lainie and I convinced Jack to show us his 6 pack later.
When my host mom picked me up, we went home and had salmon, rice and a weird soup with a bunch of veggies,
Tomorrow, we go to the beach!

... She also showed me her high school yearbook and I has trouble guessing who was her. When we left, she gave me this wishing crystal and then some paper cranes. She then went to take a shower and I read Paper Towns.
When we left the mom drove to Carlene's house. I forgot to mention earlier that when she drives, she floors it. She goes 20 kilometers per hour over! I guess the police can't catch her because there aren't really police to catch ...
