... we had a lovely ice cream by the sea.

Later, after a little shop, we returned to our Ambela beach and our 5 star camper resort. We enjoyed another swim on a near perfect evening. As the sunset we had a great chat with some local people, another lovely meal and of course a cold beer. We learnt during our chat that we had missed the full eclipse of the moon at 6.30am. We are happy to wait for the next eclipse at a reasonable hour.

Ano Syros is the medieval settlement of Syros and has a feel of a small hilltop town; with lots of sugar cube houses all densely packed together on the narrow streets, and it is a strong Catholic area of the island today. Seeing ...

... downside of back to back cruises. Our 21 days is actually 3 x 7 day cruises, so there will be 2 formal nights each week (6 all together) and the dining menu and entertainment are on a 7 day cycle so will be repeated each week. The upside, 2 more lobster dinners! Now far be it for me to rant on about people with mobility issues on cruises. After all, I may be one some day. But I truly believe that when it becomes difficult to ...

... museum depicting a time when the Cycladas islands were the center of Grecian island culture. We loved it. The port is the center of activity and the city itself sprawls up the steep mountains overlooking the sea. There were myriads of marble streets and alleys to explore, cafes on nearly every corner, and cats, cats, cats for Anna. One of the highlights for me was the museum of technology. I went there twice to marvel at the old ...
