After picking up some fellow travelers, we headed out on the trusty Ludovita, and ended up anchoring off of Samothraki for a few days. We enjoyed our days playing in the water holes under the water falls, lounging on the rocks in the sun's warm embrace. Ending the day in the natural hot springs of ancient lore was as magical as it was tranquil. A truly peaceful, fun, and easy time! ...

... dish and we would have to share it, but we could have lamb. Very happy with that. The meals were lovely.
Then he asked if we'd like dessert. Yes please. But we only have creme brle or panacotta. So we ordered creme brle. They were so apologetic, ...

Caught the bus over the steep hills and narrow roads to Chora, the main city of Andhros and about 40 minutes away. It's quite a bit bigger than Batsi with several large beaches which had a surf rolling in today. It's cooler, about 22 degrees and the wind is very gusty, but it's lovely when you find a sheltered spot.

The hillsides are covered in stone walls. There are Chuches and chapels everywhere, including on the highest and steepest spots. Houses are ...

... ok.
We arrived in Syros at lunchtime, quite a different island to those we have previously visited, it has made a change to see no white washed houses with blue painted windows and doors.
Syros is one of the smallest Islands of the Cyclades yet it has the highest population and it is the legal and administrative centre of the entire archipelago. The lively town of Ermoupolis is the capital of Syros as well ...

Road to Zaros

... stringed instrument that looks and sounds like a mandola or over-grown mandolin), a few one or two-aisle mini-markets, and a single gas station at the far end of town. Zaros has pretty much everything you need in a Cretan mountain village. We loved it. But after thoroughly stuffing ourselves with home-made cakes and pastries and Keramos coffee, we needed to burn some of those calories so we rode northwest out of town and began yet another series of ascents and descents through ...
