Time to get back on the road, so we went back to the town to get something to eat and plan our next stop, Castle Steinau. We checked with the tourist office to determine the hours. Unfortunately, we spent more time in the woods than we thought and now there was no way to drive to the castle in time. To make matters ...

... vergeht schnell und seitdem ich aus dem schönen Süden wieder hier im Norden bin war viel zu organisieren und es ist noch einiges übrig geblieben was noch geplant werden muss.

It rained overnight and rains on and off this morning. We can hear the Contiki group up and about. Colin had told us about all the rain they had over the past 21 days and here it is again, no wonder some have coughs.

We get up and shower. By this time they are all packed and on the bus. The field is empty, nothing left behind. We wave good-bye to them as they pull out. We go to the kitchen and cook ...

... a little different in one way or another. Everything down to the plastic lid on your pepsi-cola. Martin's family was very gracefully and enjoyed living the German life for 5 days. Thank you so much Martin and family. Right now I'm riding in the 8 hour train to Paris, and my seat is backwards. It is very miserable traveling at 320 km/h backwards. I think for the first time I've got motion sickness .

... me and when i made the way to my home i could see the grass not being cut for ages. Everything was still there. I crashed down and slept well . Finally home again.......... Well let me do a final resumee at this point: One year is not much time to do this trip. I drove over 50 000 km (41000M) because you never go straight. used around 6000 liter of gas. spend roughly 800 on repairs ...

... of delicacies and I found out that Matthias comes here every once in a while to take cooking lessons. Recently he learned how to make sushi with the neighbor at one such class and Ines and the other wife loved it because they just watched them prepare their artistic creations and they just ate them. ... to some great tunes which seemed to be American for the most part. After having our fill of music and drinks we headed home. We picked up a taxi and of course he had no idea where the Kettlers lived. He was Asian but spoke German, we were American with Margo as our translator which wasn't the ideal situation but finally Margo mumbled something in German he understood and he found it on his map. ... day of summer this year, and the weather reminded me of the dreary days of Michigan fall. I may have to buy some warmer clothes. My blog will change somewhat this week, this is peaceful and more enjoyable time with family. Our trip here will include celebrating Ines and Matthias's 10th wedding anniversary with a large party at a hotel in Gottingen. I'm not going to attempt a daily entry but will combine them.
