The long flooded roads of Sardinia

... looked like loads of rain had fallen overnight in
Rijeka and to what I can see here in Slovenia they have had loads of rain also
as the whole place was in flood. Roads and power lines were simply running
across lakes of water. Within the first few miles into the country I must have
      seen about 6 landslides.
The road i took was simply mountain pass after mountain pass and was just
magical. The road was however extremely wet and so great care had to ...

... for the train for Salzburg. We are hoping for no rain tomorrow as there are no buses so it will be a walk if we can. Well walk we did. 4 km to Milstatt to find the cafe for wifi was closed! So thought we would have an ice cream but the supermarket was closed too! Then it started to drizzle!! So we walked back to Delach to the flat. A bit tired when we got here. Today our last day here we caught the bus to Spitall and went to the cafe to check our mail. Then tried ...

... the train.....So long, farewell I wish you all adieu, adieu, adieu to you and you and you!! Well there we were, on a train going to ? Where? We told the conductor, he told us to get off at the next station and catch another train back to Villach to get on our bus. The only trouble with that advice was the bus for Venice would have already gone by the time we got there! I always wanted a mystery tour and now we were getting it! A nice young man, who spoke ...

      KOLNBREIN DAM

Dam just a short run from base and we passed some amazing waterfalls and arrived with not another person around - not a bad thing to be alone when you are stood on a glass platform at 200m. Back into Gmund for a look around the Porche Museum and town, quick bite to eat with a rather indulgent Iced Coffee.

Attempted the 35 km long Nochalmstrasse but the Austrian rain
had other ideas and mother nature sneaked in a rather chilly 2 Deg and at 2042 m high that is cold so back to Hochalmspitze for a chill.

Vernon's Goulash for tea made up for the day !
