      ... Fields museum and beautiful buildings. It is very pretty to walk on the old ramparts all around the city. At one of the city gates they hold a last post ceremony.       Yesterday we went to a market in the village, it mainly had art and there was a man doing pictures in perspex with a drill. They looked amazing. We went into a shop that was all miniature things. the lady was really nice and showed her workshop.       ... Lille-Flandres, our first change, at 10.15am and looked around for our next train. But there was nothing like it on the departures board. I consulted a timetable at the station, which appeared to indicate a direct train to Bruges had left at 10.08am and there would be another one at 1.45pm.       ... Venice so I felt quite defensive. Bruges had to prove it was worthy of such a title.

      If I hadn't realised my expectations could disappoint me they probably would have. Ever the pessimist I worked hard to judge this place on my own accord.
