    ... wonderful canals threaded through the town and walking was easy.
    Our apartment was overlooking one of the canals and we were always hanging out the window enjoying the view. We had a large 3 bedroom so we had plenty of room for everyone and most importantly for Mike to cook for us. We were also close to the oldest pub in Belgium which has been trading for 500 years. Obviously, we had to check it out.

    ... than planned and have managed to get on an earlier ferry... We have had a fantastic time, have met some lovely people (and some very miserable too - but they were few and far between) visited the most amazing places and have taken soooooo many photos to remind us of our trip.     ... station we did 4 years ago when we went to Spain just in the opposite direction. That's about as interesting as the journey got.

    Arrived at Zeebrugge for the ferry and went to the supermarket to grab some beer for the ferry. I normally drink Belgian beer so was in hog heaven, beer I pay 4 5 for at home and i could get 6 cans for 7 Euro's. Seriously considered leaving ...

    Yesterday we went to a market in the village, it mainly had art and there was a man doing pictures in perspex with a drill. They looked amazing. We went into a shop that was all miniature things. the lady was really nice and showed her workshop. She was making a castle and said she moulded all the bricks herself and the roof was made from a pinecone pulled apart that she got from her garden. After this we had to go to ...

    ... the Grand Place) and its bell tower (from which Brendan Gleeson jumped in "In Bruges"), Burg square, and the Church of Our Lady. We ended back at the frites stands in front of the bell tower, and Rolinka made us find our own way back to the hotel. Since we all showed up in the lobby later on, I guess we're all smarter than she thinks we are.
