4 rue Barberis Nice, French Riviera - Cote d'Azur, Provence, France, 06300
ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilmanI know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote dŽAzur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote dŽAzur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...
Nice, Provence, France tilman... gesture. We can't change the world but we can change the way these children start off in life and who knows where that will lead....
It is less than 4 weeks now until I leave. There is much to do. I am trying to prepare myself for "teaching" 20 - 25 children. A bit of a challenge that. Much as I have known that I have always wanted to do something like this, now that it ...
... not limited by bus and train timetables. The other upside is that we are quite comfortably staying within our 50 Euro a day budget (25 Euro each) - yep that's fuel, food, the occasional wine or 3 out at a bar, entrance fees, the lot!! Downside of campervaning... it is a lot harder socialising and meeting other people. In a hostel this is easy especially if you are in an 8 bed dorm with a bunch of strangers. In a van you don't have this opportunity and most other vanners ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74... we eventually found a cute place that by some miracle was open. Emboldened by some food, we found our way back to the station and decided to proceed on to the next stop, Cannes. It was a little disappointing, as it seems that it is quite a small town area and we can't quite work out why they would hold a huge film festival there, but anywho. Dee kept on the lookout for Brad Pitt or George C, but no luck unfortunately as the festival was much earlier in the year. We saw some locals ...
Nice, Provence, France dan-and-dee... leopard print!
I managed to find a dress for 20 euro which wasn’t bad at all so I was happy and I also got a couple of tees. Seemed the safest option really!
When we got to the bottom of the street we headed for the lookout. We climbed about 100 stairs I think to get to the top but the view was amazing. Got to see all of the coastline and had a nosey at some more boats!
At the top we decided to get a group photo and those with compact ...
... a stack of kiwis!!
That night we headed to monaco for dinner and a quick punt at the grand casino!!! Sadly me and my 10 euro didn't get invited to head into the high rollers room. Every car imaginable under the sun parked out front of this place it made you cringe! but nothing worht less than $100,000!!
We then headed back to Nice to to finish the night up at Wayne's bar!! Did i mention that place rocks ...
... and had more wine. By the time we went to Wayne's it was gametmie. We started talking to this group of good looking Irish girls but they were with some American guysAlright so we got to Nice and were amazed at the incredible quality of the women there. The girls were not only gorgeous but were walking around the streets wearing next to nothing. That was on the streets. When we made it to the beaches many girls and women (some you ...
Nice, Provence, France jgreezy... afford to live there. I don't think I saw anyone who looked like a resident the entire time I was there... I guess they were all too busy sitting on their balconies in furry bathrobes. Montecarlo is famous for the Grand Prix and for its casinos, namely the Le Grand Casino. Unfortunately our weekend was a little rushed so we didn't have time to go into it. The most recent James Bond movie "Casino Royale" was filmed in Monaco... and I kept waiting for Daniel Craig to ...
Nice, Provence, France hahn105... take-on France. Now, granted, these were all honest mistakes, but funny nonetheless. First, let's set the scene. Late night, south of France. Only Americans at a sidewalk cafe. French all around... So we get some water and Cal the ibanker pours it into the glasses... Frenchie the busboy walks by and extremely nonchalantly (and haughtily) whispers to me - "those are the wine glasses." Haha, ok. So then he pours out balsamic vinegar for our bread instead of oil, oops again ...
