... sunglasses, reading glasses (!) and some money for gelato! I got Tegz out of her pit and we headed down to do what we do best; read!

Believe it or not we laid there for over 7 hours! The sky was that sort of azure blue that signifies holidays. There was not a cloud in the sky. The sun actually shone. This was all well over due and well deserved. We had a spectacular view of the lake and a much needed breeze ...

Well, we all managed to sleep pretty well considering. In fact, I would say it was my best night's sleep yet. I am very definitely not a cold temperature person; the cold makes me miserable. Once I get warm I’m happy! It was lovely not to wake up in the night cold.

... Tom had chosen took us through the Mont Blanc tunnel. Luckily we drove straight through (one of the reasons we left early!) at a cost of €42. Last year Lyn and Ci queued for over 2 hours just to get through the toll booth. The tunnel is over 11km long; a hell of an engineering feat that goes straight under Mont Blanc. The tunnels were a novelty at first but we soon got fed up of them…..I lost count of the number of tunnels we eventually ...

Assisi

A travel blog entry by sulovedave on Jul 26, 2014

What a day indeed. Got on the wrong train with Louise. Then met a nice train officer on the train so we could catch up another train right away. However, it didnt stop at the Assisi station so we went way further from Assisi. Had to take another train for the right direction and we did. But the crazy Italian officer was so mad and asked us to pay for 33€ each for the short distance on the train. She didnt ...
