... on the route to Interlaken.
But after setting up the route on my satnav it told me the distance was about
300 miles and so there is simply no ways I will manage that in a day and
especially with the glorious scenery en route.

        Breakfast
is included in this hotel but no ways am I sitting in a restaurant full of loud
screaming teenagers and so I will head down the pass to a wonderful little cafe
near the bottom and sit in peace under the mountains.

By our second day we had the bus/train system mastered...we knew where NOT to get off the train. First stop was at Morteratsch at a local cheese factory where they make cheese the traditional way with milk from cows that graze high in the mountains. We watched a cheese maker whipping up a copper cauldron of cheese. We were his most rapt audience. Although all the people we met in Switzerland spoke English, he didn't. So, ...

... perfection. We finally arrived at our Hotel Bernina in Pontresina in the evening, at 7 pm, too exhausted to do much more than unpack our wine and cheese stash from Iceland and head to bed. Still, despite the 17 hours of travel via plane, train and bus, the Switzerland interlude was an adventure really worth doing. Friday morning, after breakfast provided by the hotel we got serious about exploring the Engadine region of the Swiss ...

... t come out all that great because of the glare from the windows but hopefully you can get an idea! We will be here for only one night and tomorrow we are heading to Lake Garda in the Northern region of Italy. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Northern Italy and we are really looking forward to it! It is also getting quite chilly here so I am ready to head for a little warmer weather! I was very ...
