... we went higher and higher on the worlds slowest express train. The steep, slow, winding track affords so many vistas that we were running from side to side of the train, gasping at every turn and bend. Luckily our carriage was nearly empty so we and a few others could do this.
We were lucky enough to see most of the glacier, but turn your back and it's enveloped in cloud again. Over the actual Bernina pass ( ...

It had rained overnight in Corvara so the roads were wet when we left but it wasn't raining. The good thing was that the roads were ours - hardly any traffic. The bad thing was that the roads were wet and slippery. Canazei was our forts port of call - a very wealthy ski resort. The buildings were very ornate and there was plenty of traffic. We went through the Passo do Costalunga and found ourselves in the apple ...

... above Edolo, last year and remember that they advertise 'bungalows' for rent. Our 'bungalow' is, in fact, a caravan with an awning pinned on the front. But it's comfortable and warm and gets us out of the rain which has begun to fall.

We dine on snack food and beer from the camp bar and are in bed by 9. It's been a tiring day. The weather is supposed to improve tomorrow.
