A day of cold and hot

I had the normal Swiss breakfast which seems to consist of bread, rolls and cold meats and cheese. One thing they seem to offer for the bread is chocolate spread but they never seem to have butter!! Do the Swiss not eat such things as butter??

Sunshine and snow in the Alps

As I make my way towards Chur its nothing but wonderful green landscapes all the way with beautiful snow covered mountains all around. Some of the towns I passed through were beautifully kept places with typically built Swiss cottages etc.
As it is out of season at the moment many of these towns resembled ghost towns with next to nothing going on in them at all.

Sondrio, Tirano and the Bernina Express
... into a few boutique shops saw us leave with a few locally made goods. We hop in the car for the last leg of our Italy drive - the drive to Sondrio is only 70k but takes about 70 mins and apart from the time spent in tunnels the drive is very scenic and Northern Italy quite appealing.
