... hours. Gab and I relaxed the afternoon away: Sleeping, plunging, sipping - the fitbit says it's the laziest day so far but ohhhh we feel good.

On the bus back we met a Canadian father & son backpacking around Italy. The son turns 21 next week but was more taken with Fid turning 12 and starting high school next year. They talked travel and rugby for the short ride back to Rapallo.

... are apparently a little testy and ready to lash out at anything or anybody nearby. Fortunately all the research we could find stated if you did not have a serious reaction within an hour you weren’t allergic and within a matter of days the stinging should cease. We’ve been to Hawaii and Florida beaches dozens of times and have never been stung, Mary sticks one foot in the Ligurian sea for 30 seconds and gets stung. Go figure.

The quaint little beach shops that normally surround a harbor selling boating trinkets, driftwood art and swimsuits were nowhere to be found. ... As we headed around the last bend, there Portofino was in all her glory.

We jumped out and headed straight into the midst of Portofino, took a hill climb to see the large church perched on the hill, had a wander around the cemetery then headed to the Castle which is right at the top of the mountain of course.
