... Bakeries that we enjoyed for a very late lunch. The boat took us back to Rapallo quite late with a quick walk around the town and castle in the water we retuned by train. A quick stop at Sestri Levante and a fast walk out to a sandy beach and then back to the train to return to our apartment at Moneglia. Another big day on trains and boats with magic weather. ... the ship we sat by the pool and had a cocktail and looked over the beautiful coastline! I think I could live on the Italian coast...whether it be Positano, Portofino, any of the Cinque Terre towns. They feel like home!

... the way up the ridge from town. It's a good hours walk up and down steep hills but I loved the exercise and fresh country air. The path cuts through Olive groves which look unchanged through vast amounts of time, no doubt being cared for by generation after generation. Locals have been living and dying here for so long living in similar ways it was a refreshing tonic away from today's hectic big city living.
