          ... unique little town ...its on the way up to Jungfrau ...Europe's highest mountain ...where I will venture to tomorrow ...can't wait. So train back down and meet this delightful family ..he's an Aussie and she's Swiss ...she even offers me a bed at her mum and dads for my next stay at Lucerne, so nice ...they live in Basel, where I just came from, amazing !! Have my gear out ready for my trip tomorrow many ...

          ... and the higher we climbed the more visceral the experience of the water's power was.

          We then continued to walk along the valley, which was a lovely sensory experience: in addition to the spectacular scenery, we took in the sound of cow bells, the smell of freshly mown grass from the farmers' hay making, (also the smell of cow dung!!) para-gliders floating from the ridges above, lycra-clad bikers zipping past, various grades of walkers ...

          ... This meant it was very cold where we were staying so Shaun ended up buying a new hoody as he only bought one jumper with him! We also saw snow on our drive out of Switzerland, it was like a winter wonderland there was snow for miles and we got to stop and have a snowball fight etc. We had a blast in Switzerland, Shaun even got a legit Swiss Army knife as a souvenir.           Armed with sandwiches, cameras, and water we planned for about five hours of hiking. To save money on trains, we planned a circuit that required us to take the train to Wengen, and we would walk from there. The whole circuit was split into three separate hikes.
