... until they leave. Then we will travel overland to Turkey's eastern neighbor, the Republic of Georgia. We don't know a lot about Georgia but it sounds like an intriguing place and it is off the beaten tourist track. We should have time to do research while in Istanbul.

Of course we will continue to blog. Perhaps a short one for Turkey then another for Georgia. Check our dash board.

Romania is a poor country. Much of the architecture was built during the Soviet regime, and consists of large blocks of apartments with no style at all, and now in sad repair. The guide often spoke of the time 'after the fall of the USSR' or 'during the time of Communist rule', or 'when we were under Kruschov'. I don't think we'll be coming back.
