Herr Hocher is the ultimate innkeeper. Great accommodations with period furniture and decorations. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautufilly maintained property, amazing owners made us feel like we were part of the family. Limited parking - let them know in advance if you need a spot. This is a place we will stay again.

We got on our tour bus in Frankfurt and headed towards Wurzburg. We had a ten minute stop ar the Prince Bishop Residence. A mammoth sized building with a fountain out front. As we drove towards Rothenburg. I recognized there are religious symbols everywhere. We passed miles of dense trees before seeing a village. Each with a cathedral in the center …

For our last tourist day in Europe we traveled from Salzburg to the most visited town on Germany's Romantic Road, the historically preserved medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. You have to throw in the "ob der Tauber" because there are several German cities named Rothenburg and the last part is the designation for "on the Tauber (River)." …

We decided to do the medieval tour of Nuremberg. We started at the Imperial Castle and walked down through to the town square. Along the way we sampled Gingerbread (fun fact: Gingerbread does not contain ginger) which was delicious, we also sampled German sausage (does not contain German's) and another beer sampling (at 10am). Back to the ship for lunch, Gary off for a walk me a nap and blog ...

Bamberg is small city, about the same population as Rocky, the only difference is it was established in 1007. The Old City Hall is built in the middle of the river as the Bishop of the time would not allow it to be built on his land so the creative town folk said "well you don't own the river we will build it there". Bamberg is a very pretty city however it is famous now as the beer region of Germany. We had ...
