Herr Hocher is the ultimate innkeeper. Great accommodations with period furniture and decorations. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautufilly maintained property, amazing owners made us feel like we were part of the family. Limited parking - let them know in advance if you need a spot. This is a place we will stay again.

We got on our tour bus in Frankfurt and headed towards Wurzburg. We had a ten minute stop ar the Prince Bishop Residence. A mammoth sized building with a fountain out front. For our last tourist day in Europe we traveled from Salzburg to the most visited town on Germany's Romantic Road, the historically preserved medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber. You have to throw in the "ob der Tauber" because there are several German cities named Rothenburg and the last part is the designation for "on the Tauber (River)." …

... It is the home of of Germany's famous (and original) Kathe Wohlfahrt Christmas Store - open 365 days a year and that's where Ros headed while I spent time walking the streets taking photographs. It was snowing and about - 3 degrees.

It was good day out followed by a degustation dinner in the ships exclusive Eriebnis Restuarant that I enjoyed but Ros didn't as much.

... a Christmas Carol sing-along, so we stayed for the first song. The church itself was very white and had a modern organ, but the acoustics were quite good. There is nothing like hearing organ music in a church to rumble the belly.

We came across the Weihnachtsmarkt and bought a frequent drinker card for 10 mugs of Glühwein. Between four people that wasn't a problem, so we tried out the normal, Heidelbeer (blueberry) and Kirsch ...
