Liebe Menschen,
es ist 5.45 in der Früh und ich bin bereits geduscht, angezogen und "auf dem Sprung". Das heißt... Es geht jetzt bald los...
Fahre jetzt nach Wien, am Abend nach München, und von da geht morgen früh unser Flieger. Erste Station in Südamerika ist dann San Jose, von wo ich mich hoffentlich übermorgen Abend wieder melde.

... It's pretty picture perfect.

Vintgar Gorge is about 4km away from Bled in a National Park. Over 100 years ago, two locals built a 2km boardwalk around and across the gorge. It’s a beautiful, peaceful walk that was a nice antidote to all of the cities we’ve been visiting. Bled and Vintgar show off the real Slovenia – outdoorsy, rustic and beautiful.

Es ist wieder mal soweit.
Das Fernweh hat Überhand genommen
und zieht uns in einer Woche für einen Kurztrip nach Vietnam.

Genauer gesagt nach Nord-Vietnam, um ein bisschen mehr über die asiatische Kultur zu lernen,
vor allem übers Essen.

... was so cute with the mountains in the background and all the boats and stuff. We got to the exhibition and we had a look around its not really my cup of tea but Ian liked it so that was cool. We then walked back to the lake and wanted to have a drink of that nice hot chocolate again but we stopped in this cafe with the worst service and ended up walking out ha ha. We got back to the place that we went yesterday and had some hot chocolate in there instead ...

... and had missed the last train so the man was saying we have to get this train and then change but we just walked outside and the gods must have been smiling on me as there was a bus going direct to Bled. What an amazing change of countryside I really like Slovenia its dramatic with huge mountains the Alps I think and lots of green fields. The bus ride was really cool and it took a couple of hours we made it to Bled ...

... slowed down and stuck my right hand out to indicate. At this exact moment my chain locked up, my front wheel stopped moving, and my back wheel lifted up and threw me straight over the handlebars!

You know when you fall and it happens really quickly, but it feels like it takes forever? That is what this was like, I felt like I flew through the air forever but it all took just a second!

... hardy soul swimming in it. 20 deg C water, we were told -- someone out there do the math -- and a video we skipped of the Bled version of Dr. Kellogg, starting his spa there in the mid-19th century. Back down by a different footpath, which brought us to the 4 mile stroll around the lake, so we got to do a bit of it, which was good, because we had to get a move on to make our appointment for dinner at the farm where we were staying.

Quite the greeting ...

... was a sign for a Balkan restaurant advertising grilled trout for 6 Euros…we decided to give it a shot and I am so glad that we did! It was such an authentic little place and the food was so good… a whole fresh trout from Lake Bled with potatoes and vegetables, all for that price! We had not spent a dime all day and were camping for free so it was justified :)

The next day ...

... sweet happy little lady who gave us the low-down on the town and surrounding areas. The hostel itself was great with a shared kitchen and living space, shared bathroom, and a private room for us. With plenty of light left in the day we decided to see the lake and town. So we headed down, marveling at the dainty lake with its little island in the ...

... down to where I have parked the car. I arrive around 7.30, then speed down the mountain road in the Citroen and arrive back at the pension just minutes before 8pm, the time I have figured Alice is going to really start worrying about me. She has a look on her face halfway between being relieved to see me and scolding me for making her worry so much. I don't blame her and feel a bit sheepish having caused worry. I know some of you will think I'm at worst mad, and at best ...
