... to go down in style! Cristian invited me to see Pink Mountaintops (the dude from Black Mountain’s other band) so we arrived at the show already a little tipsy nailing the gin & tonics… bad I know! The gig was awesome though and the dudes from Pink Mountaintops hungout and chatted for a bit after which was sweet. Finally it was time to say goodbye and catch the last metro to Daggy’s and pass out on the sofa so as not to wake the poor thing… waking ...

... at least a short while. The Slovenian languages similarities to Croatian were also a welcome thing indeed. This was particularly helpful at meal times when reading the menu, as we actually knew what we were ordering for the first time in a long time. We went so far as to make it even more Croatian by Marcus volunteering to make every meal a ‘pola pola’ meal (half and half) so we could try as many things as possible. As only three restaurants ...

In the afternoon, we drove over to Rabilicja and the apiary museum. That was interesting, especially with the living hive on display, and the film describing the fascinating life cycle and communication talents of the bees.

Tomorrow we will drive west, up and over the pass where so much WWI fighting occurred, of which Hemingway wrote in "A Farewell to Arms". Will report in the next ...

An extra day in Bled

... the other holiday makers playing games, listening to a live band rocking out authentic Slovenian polkas, drinking cheap beer and eating some home made goulash. We ended up winning some of the games and received a few vouchers for some more Bled cream cake which ended up being part of our breakfast for this morning.
