... point of the day's stage). I then found myself on a busy, main road which I promptly exited. Eventually after following the river, that I knew lead to Bagni di Lucca, I finally found someone that was also going to watch the Giro (I had been asking other riders since Viareggio!) and to my relief he knew exactly where to go. We were hoping to tick off sightseeing there as well so we could again look up the guide book and have our last day to again discover some new places.

... our ride, as we headed along the Arno River out of the flat plains of Pisa, along a few narrow paths and then up into the Pisan hills, we really start to feel like we are in Tuscany. A few hills to be climbed; we are all challenged in the heat. Marc manages to excel himself with a superb picnic featuring prosecco and fantastic cheeses, and salads. Well fuelled we manage the narrow paths and a few hills to the quiet town of Casciana Terme, famous for its ...
