The two and a half hours a week I have the seven-year-old devil-children of Beginners 4, that's the price tag. There is the clammy cry-baby Juan Miguel who is in danger of actually taking out an eye with the under-wire in my bra he stands so close to me when I ask them to line up. ... are you ready?

The bank says you can't pay for your NIE number unless....
.....you have an NIE number.

I'd actually run out of tears at this point and just smiled inanely as Montse led me out and we went and found a bank that did want my money. At this point I'd like to make it clear that we are talking about EUROS 9.36. Or 7.35. Or US$12.02. Or CAN$13.26..... Its not breaking the bank but it broke my will.

In for a penny in for a pound we ...
