... soak before bed?
We had a western breakfast at the Japanese hotel. They should stick to Japanese food. We started the day visiting a traditional Japanese woodworking factory and had a demonstration of how different types of wood are glued together and then cut paper thin with what must be an extraordinarily sharp plane. He claims he can cut a hundred slices from a 4 inch piece. They can also make ultra delicate inlay pictures. He also make ...

This morning we take the Yamanoto Line to Tokyo station where we transfer to the Superview Odoriko train to Atami on the Izu Peninsula, about 90 min by train. Once we get back to Gotemba traffic is lighter and we easily find our way back from there. Too bad we never got to see the pink moss fields, we had seen a lot of pictures with the moss in full bloom and Mount Fuji in the background and were really looking forward to seeing it in real life. We get ...

We have done another bullet train today and travelled nearer to Tokyo. This afternoon we had some scrummy tempura for lunch and then went on the cruise ship around the lake. We did see Mount Fuji briefly from the train this morning but unfortunately it was too cloudy this afternoon to see it. We were going up on the cable car today but they are not running at the moment so this is why we did the boat. This afternoon we arrived at our ...
