... each person is provided slippers that we are expected to wear while walking inside the ryokan. They say one size fits all, but Brett’s wide feet are popping out of the slippers and he has to walk like a Geisha to prevent them from sliding off. The housemaids at the ryokan just giggle as they think he’s so cute!

... and swimmers. After a brief visit to the marine town, we therefore made our way to Kyoto slightly earlier than planned and experienced our first Shinkansen, or bullet train.
