... exploring the fortress we bumped into a couple that we'd met back at the hostel in Shkodėr. We'd also previously been reunited with a guy we'd met at the hostel in Berat in Shkodėr and another guy we'd met in Berat at Kotor bus station! It just goes to show how small the world really is.

... As it takes over an hour, we decided not to do this climb, although the views might have made it worth while.

We walked around on our own for a while, going outside the walls to the shabbier side of town. Terry needed to use an ATM, and I stood guard. We wandered through the local market. The fish and meat were smelly, but the strawberries were huge and beautiful.
