      ... to go to Matera today but as its Sunday the train doesn't go there and the bus was too difficult so instead I went to Polignano a Mare. It's a town about 30 mins by train down the coast. It was a nice train ride. Once again, very agricultural. There were a lot of locals out and about. I think it must be a special Sunday cause it's 1 week before Easter. I've seen a lot of people with bunches of olive branches. Maybe it's Palm Sunday ...

The GFC or Economic conditions must have hit Italy hard because there were hundreds of single and apartment buildings not completed, hollow or boarded up, very sad. We stopped at a garage and went in with our two heads, as that is what everyone must have been staring at as we walked in, that and our French number plates, anyway got two coffees an Americano, (long black) and a Cappuccino for €1.80 bargain.
