      ... had come to head back to our hotel to collect our bags and make the journey to our Cruise Ship! We caught a water bus - one which didn't have any stairs ( yay) and settled down until we needed to get off at the station with access to the monorail which would take us to the Cruise Ship Terminal. Mmmm... The monorail did take us to the cruise ship terminal, but there was still a very long walk between where the monorail stopped and where the Terminal ...

      ... mom would fly home and we would take the bus to La Rochelle for a week of "downtime" before we continued our travels. It was so nice that mom could come out on such short notice but BOY did we cover a lot of ground! I'm not sure if we'll get back to Italy to see Rome on this trip (I hear it's underwater right now anyhow!) so I guess we'll just have to come back!       ... as Venice is walking streets only. I split from the group with a few girls (Melanie, Megan, Katie) and we walked around, buying masks, Venetian glass, gelato, and trying to lose ourselves in the labyrinth of streets but ended up doing a big circle and finding ourselves without meaning to!
