    ... the ship in Italy, Karen & Bill and had a memorable time at a few restaurants. Pam felt a little sick at one !
    We spent 3 days in the ancient Florence centre in a 1700C building a stones throw from David's statue overlooking an 1400C church, following that up with a splendid stay at a 1400C castle..I Parigi. now converted to a charming bed & breakfast.

    Kind of sad checking out of our little hotel in Venice. It points to our imminent departure of Venice. It has been a great stay. We are scheduled for a gondola ride tonight, but it looks like rain. Sherrie has arrived from Denver and is meeting us at the ship. We have our last breakfast at the hotel, which will be our last authentic Italian meal until Rome, unless we eat a lunch at one of the Italian ports. The food has been so fresh and so different ...

    ... boy were we lost, and we must've sounded so stupid asking for directions to locals in our broken Italian. At least it makes for a decent story. The better story however, came the next night, but I'll tell you about our day Thursday before I get into that.
