... awful lot of souvenir shops and stalls, very christmasy shops selling all manner of chocolates was that there were also a huge number of shops dedicated to the sale of face masks, very elaborate face masks. It seemed rather a lot of masks when you consider the Venetian festival is an annual event. Then I read that 3 million visitors come for this festival and it can stretch for up to 3 months and well, maybe that is why Venice is sinking!

September – Up and away by
7.30 we left Venice behind and headed for Rome. A big day of travel

After hours of walking around I decided to call it quits. All the buildings were statring to look the same, so I got out of the maze and headed for water to catch the next water Bus. I was really amazed how far I had gone. In fact I still don't know where I was. Anyway I made it back safe and sound.
