After arriving in Cochin we spent the first few hours arranging car hire to travel to Munnar (a hill station and unfortunately inaccessible by train) and then on to Allepey. This was followed with some sightseeing and a relaxed evening after walking in the afternoon heat for a few hours ...

Of course once we got there they were all quite interested in the synagogue, which was built by the Portuguese in 1614 and has a tombstone from 1269 greeting visitors. Unfortunately there are no Jews left ...
How has this hotel rated in the past?

Nothing fancy but clean adequate rooms. Food is decent and staff courteous. Just one thing bothered me is to get to the hotel have to pass through a lane which has a local country bar overflowing with patrons from afternoon onwards.
