... br> As mentioned the French Colonialists have left their mark on Pondicherry with some beautiful
architecture. We were impressed at how a lot of grand buildings have been lovingly restored and some turned into very stylish hotels. Even with the many crumbling piles it was easy to see the potential of these buildings and a pleasure to know that when we return there will be more of them to admire.

Superb large room with balcony overlooking the Bay of Bengal, all for £6, but not without rules and regulations. Gates shut at 10.30pm, no smoking, alcohol or drugs. Yoga, meditation, and good thoughts to be practised in the garden of solitude. Tony Clare this ...

... br> On Mission street you will find many cobblers who make slippers and shoes of all kinds and colors from leather. You can place an order with them. I placed an order for a pair of blue sandals. The cobbler promptly handed them to me according to specifications the very next day! The place I ordered is named - "Basker shoe shop", but I guess, you are treated with the same respect and same promptness at any other shoe shop. Mind you, these ...
