... more on that later) The Matrimandir dome is made up from over 500 golden discs, all made by hand, and each golden piece consisting of hundreds of smaller pieces which have all been put together by hand. This creation took over 20 years to complete, as was completed as group effort from people all over the world, if you zoom in on the image of the golden circles on the dome from the previous blog update you will hopefully be able to see what we are talking about, lots of tiny ...

... the KBS Kofi Bar on Rue St Martin.

The French/Italian restaurant Satsanga has the least sticky menus we've found in Indian diners so far. Despite the lure of chips and pasta on the menu I opt for the saffron aubergine curry which is excellent but we leave with a bad aftertaste when the waiter adds an extra 50 rupees to each bill by calculating the 14% tax in his favour. It certainly felt like giving birth later on the next morning. No need to thank me for that image. On that note it's interesting that I haven't suffered the infamous Indian ring sting. The food has been spicy, but ...

... by 40 minutes which meant, annoyingly, that we missed our train down to Varkala, a nice little town on the coast of the Arabian Sea. Rather than stay the night in Cochin we decided to bite the bullet and splash out on a 3 hour taxi ride straight to our hotel in the popular North Cliff area of Varkala. Nighttime driving in India gets your heart pumping, to say the least.
