... and caught us as we were walking towards the French restaurant we planned for tonight. It wasn't open for a couple of hours so we had a drink at the bar across the road until it opened. The meal at the restaurant was worth the wait. I had steak with creamy mushroom sauce and potato mash. The meat was so tender and perfectly cooked, and the mash was creamy and smooth. I think it was better than any meal I'd had in ...

    Day 220: Pondicherry

... connected it all straight away. She finally a a sim. Hallelujah! After a nice sit in the air conditioned Vodafone shop while the sim was being set up, we went to the coast to have a look around. It isn't a sand beach in Pondicherry, it's more like rocks leading down to the ocean. I don't think it's a swimable beach. ... bag from me. Tons of people got some good pictures as I squared off with this guy trying to get my berries back. He was feisty and kept charging me as I went in for the bag. I got within a foot of the devil and as he sets the bag down, daring me to make a move (which I did), I snatched the bag back and he came at me. Never thought I'd be chased by a monkey, smiling, as I popped the only good strawberry left into my mouth before turning to throw the empty bag in his face. Aaaannnd ...

... whole of place whilst driving around aimlessly. This is perhaps no bad thing though as Pondicherry is really lovely, with a strong French vibe - the street names begin with Rue - and lots of great food and architecture. We introduced Em to her first Masala Chai but her lukewarm reaction was not the steaming excitement we had been hoping for, in time though.. Otherwise we just chilled, did a lot of catching up and had a very pleasant ...
