... go with Sam to the top of the mountain, and Laura reluctantly agreed to join Blake on the beginner hill, where the biggest challenge is riding up the t-bar on a snowboard (not a lot of fun). At the top of the lift, Sam strapped on his board and was ready to go - straight down the middle of the trail, which is the steepest and busiest part. I asked if he was sure, but he only paused briefly at the top to second guess his choice - and then he was gone. We had agreed ...

... little too cocky, a problem that was quickly remedied. I don't know what it was - different snow, different board, steeper slopes, rude Austrian skiers whipping by within inches of me - but I couldn't turn worth a darn and went down hard many times on that first run. We are on the road heading south, the Austrian autobahn goes through the alps, with 3km long tunnels and spectacular views. Whitewashed walls and red roofed little towns- undulating hills and layer upon layer of farms! We've travelled 100meters up then 1000 m down over hill and dale. This is really enchanting! We ...

... a good look around. VIENNA Well I surprised myself by having another good sleep in this morning but woke feeling much better. When we was ready we headed off to the campsite called 'Camping Wien' that is situated close to the motorway and a short walk to the train station. On arriving and checking in we grabbed a couple of maps and one had some information that although true, did make me laugh. One section was called 'Act like the locals' and it read: BE GRUMPY, "Although we ...
