... riding tour involved driving down the ringstrasse which is an avenue which encircles the old city of Vienna. I also walked this entire avenue to get better pictures of the sites. There is a tram that goes along the avenue. I walked. We saw the upper Belvedere. We did not go inside but walked around the gardens where there is a beautiful view of the city. Our tour guide in Vienna was ok but I don't remember the stories or if there were stories. I ...

... Hills area; undulating wooded hills and valleys near the
huge Vltana River. Communism has definitely effected the quality of life here.
The Czeck Republic would have to be the poor relative to affluent Germany.

    more time here.

We have eaten beef goulash and sampled some local music last night. Accordian, and singing, all in Czeck with ...

An awesome week with Contiki Ski!

It actually turned out to be quite a slow course coz we had to turn so often but with everyone watching I just didn't want to fall over and ...

Travel tip: Aushfart isn’t a town, you won’t find it on any map, it means exit in German.

We woke to the sound of church bells and the welcome feel of sunshine. Today we would leave Germany and at some point, and it could be 4, 6 or in 8 hours time enter Austria. Some European countries require you to purchase a vignette, it’s a road tax or salad dressing depending on where you are from. We bought ours at a German service station, successfully ...

    Day Four

The last day, as previously planned, was a chill-out walk. It started with some kind of a pilgrimage route and it ended up with a beautiful mountain chain. We finally enjoyed beautiful weather with sunshine and a light summer breeze (understand without a blizzard, a thunderstorm or other funny mountain weather surprises). Unfortunately, as I have already mentioned, I was suffering from terrible knee ache which ...
