An awesome week with Contiki Ski!

A travel blog entry by nicolapollard on Feb 22, 2015

... I decided to power thru as a nap would probably make me feel worse. So at 5:30pm we were back on the bus driving to Soll for our night skiing. I'd never done night skiing before but had heard that they groom all the tracks just before it so all the pros come along to go really fast. They weren't wrong!! While on the chairlift we watched people absolutely flying down the track! One man had a bail and he landed about 30m further down than his skis! You could do some serious damage ...

... for the same reason. We had lunch at Bad Ischel. I had a beef goulash with a dumpling and Jenny had pasta with mushrooms and cream, not the Italian way. We bought some trinkets and made our way to the beautiful village of Saint Wolfgang, walked around in the drizzle and had some coffee and Strudel in the White horse cafe which overlooks the Wolfgangsee, just beautiful. As it is Tuesday and most restaurants are closed so went to the supermarket for some cold cuts and ...

It was very clear to me that he ...

... was a scenic route between Admont and Leoben, somehow we managed to get turned around on a narrow mountain road and ended up in Judenburg, and I still can’t understand how. Tonight we would stay at the only campsite not listed in the guide book. 50 Plus Camping Fisching (47.16306, 14.73833) in Austria was ‘as a fisherman’ a disappointment. Despite the campground having a beautiful swimming pond, the town is called Fisching, and the camping is for over ...

      Day Four

The last day, as previously planned, was a chill-out walk. It started with some kind of a pilgrimage route and it ended up with a beautiful mountain chain. We finally enjoyed beautiful weather with sunshine and a light summer breeze (understand without a blizzard, a thunderstorm or other funny mountain weather surprises). Unfortunately, as I have already mentioned, I was suffering from terrible knee ache which ...
