Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany trockie... thing I did notice were the German "rest stops". Unlike those we know in the US, these are simply pullovers and nothing else. Nothing else except men peeing along the side of the road, in broad daylight. Come on Germany- Let's invest in some restrooms! At least one of those McClean pay ones would be an improvement.
Bad Kissingen, Bavaria, Germany trockie... one man band who's English sounds like one run on sentence with no chance of being understood. Blessedly, there is some recognizable tunes. Shuls is a dance machine.

We stopped on the main bridge at a cafe with a fire blazing and had coffee. We then returned to the ship for our optional excursion to Rothenburg. Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany premiertravel... between Budapest and Amsterdam.
We’re now traveling on the Main River. We’ve seen many swans and ducks on the river and the hills have many vineyards. After lunch we docked at Wurzburg , another picturesque town with many church spires and a fortress on the hill. Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany tucsonjohnThe fourth biggest city in Germany, with over one million inhabitants, Cologne (Köln in German) began life as a Roman colony or colonia (hence its name). Its location on the Rhine, at the heart of Germania, was key to its status as capital of the province. The city became a centre for worship, famous for the legend and cult of Santa Ursula, and built several splendid Romanesque churches, which survive today.

By the Middle Ages, Cologne was one of ...
Cologne, Bavaria, Germany timedeng... We are told to go upstairs and the audio guides are available at the entrance.

As we go up the stairs we do see the incredible painting on the ceiling here. It is a huge staircase going up in the centre and then divides and goes up again on either side. The painting is astounding. Then we go in to a side room with chairs in it and look at the ceiling in there, another great master piece. There are some tours ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany dancejill... down. I wish we'd had more time in each city to explore, but at the same time I'm of course looking forward to Italy, and then coming home to see my family again. Thank goodness I'm here with people that make me feel more at home. I still wish Paige were here, though. Traveling isn't the same without her.

So, back in Munich. Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany laceymh... down into the wine cellar which is 260 years old. It was a dark tunnel under the palace lined with barrels of wine and when we came to the end two long table all set up with glasses and 400 candles burning just like old times and we sat down to a wine tasting. We tasted 3 different wines while we were told of the history and after an hour we left there to walk home to the ship as very happy little ...
Würzburg, Bavaria, Germany aliceandmac... a super-low budget biking trip through Germany, but I really don't know how they're managing. They were alternating between camping and hosteling, but all their camping gear got stolen a few days ago. This heat must also be brutal - they told me that it was over 35 degrees when they were biking the other day. I said goodbye and Brad told me "Maybe I'll see you in Spain next year!" Is there any doubt that I'll be there again? Of course not! I guess Brad ...
