Homeward bound

Transit from Lisbon to Windhoek on the way home. Gave me time to get the blog updated to this point. More after I return as Anne and I are having a few days at Erindi and Etosha with Australian friends from Saturday to Wednesday. I need a break from work.

Enroute to a week in Lisbon

A travel blog entry by bwanabob on Aug 22, 2015

Just a transit through Frankfurt enroute to a week in Lisbon for a Performance Based Navigation Airspace (PBN) Workshop.

I took one of the local controllers with me mentor and train so that he be my PBN replacement when I finally leave Namibia.

No pictures so nothing to see here. Move along.

The next morning we decided we needed to walk the old city in daylight to see the walled town. Where the moat used to be is children's playground, nothing that would pass Canadian safety standards but the kids sure looked like they were having fun. The Schloss was built in 1807 and is still used as a hotel and conference centre.

  • We had a quiet night at home and spent time together talking and watched a movie. ...

Our flight is not until nearly midnight so we have a whole day in Frankfurt. After breakfast we check out. We had planned on taking a bus to the station but the bus stop is crowded with people so we decided to walk to the station. The weather looks grim and it starts to rain so we stop to put on rain gear and rain covers for the packs. On arrival at the train station (the distance does not seem so bad after several trips on this route) we put our packs into left luggage lockers ...
