This was to be our last day. On waking we both wondered where 3 weeks had gone. It had just flown by. We only wished we could turn the clock back and start the holidays again. It had been so nice for Mac to meet all of Anthea's South African relatives, and spend time in the place she was born and grow up. We will be back often from now on.

The next morning we decided we needed to walk the old city in daylight to see the walled town. Where the moat used to be is children's playground, nothing that would pass Canadian safety standards but the kids sure looked like they were having fun. The Schloss was built in 1807 and is still used as a hotel and conference centre.

  • On the drive home we bought some turkish doners for dinner and looked at the native animals in a small grassed area near the turkish shops - the kebabs cost around 4 euro here.

    ... time searching for Ugg style boots. They are everywhere in the US....not so much in Germany. Eventually, a local took us down a winding back alley and showed us a small hole in the wall shoe store where the Ugg look alikes were only 20 euro. The Italians were so excited.
