... then off to Innsbruck via the town of Garmish. We had some wonderful country side. After afternoon tea ( they can't make decent coffee but who care) we headed off to Innsbruck, and some more beautiful country side. The green fields or paddocks in my lingo is wonderful. Very little snow on the highest mountain. Had a long time in bus so pleased to be to be off. A clear sunny ...

Packing up yesterday paid dividends this morning as we were quick to check out and get on the road. We ate in the town last night and had one final sauna / swim before bed & an early start today. The drive today is one of the nicest we've had. Today was our one and only day in Austria. We didn't have to be at breakfast until 8am so we got to sleep in. But of course I got up at 6am and went on a run around Seefeld(aka the town I'm staying in). Our first stop today was Wilten Basilica. It was beautiful! Next we went to the historic Winter Olympic Games site. We got to see where the ski jumping events took place. We had free time in Innsbruck to walk around and shop. We stopped at the famous Swarovski ...

Today we traveled to Austria. It was a long day once again. We stopped in Liechtenstein for lunch, which was actually kind of a bust. We only had an hour for lunch and we were kinda in the not so pretty part of the country. I would compare it to Portsmouth, Virginia. We had some exploring time and then we all had dinner. One of the differences from the other countries is that boys and girls are ...

... by nine the magic was gone. Tourist groups had invaded the place!

Time to escape, I went to visit the Kaiserliches Hofburg, where Empress Maria Theresia raised SIXTEEN children! A son was Franz Joseph II, who later would become emperor and marry "Sisi", and a daughter was Maria Antonia, better known as Marie Antoinette, who died by the guillotine. All these royal houses were so interrelated through marriages! The Hofburg is nice to visit, some beautifully restored rooms ...
