    Friday 17 All went well with the travel by train from Bologna to Venice. Again another trio of Aussies at train station - a retired couple and a friend from QLD. We chatted with them for a while before my train came - a other bullet nosed one. It was a fast speed train so the journey only took about an hour and a half. Didn't get to see much scenery as we mainly went through tunnels. The bridge from the mainland to the Venice was amazing - reminded me of that land bridge ...

    Started the morning with an early walk to San Marco and joined the rest of the dawn photographers. Beautiful hour of the day and especially as a large cruise ship sailed past S.Marco Square. Then walked in the other direction past our hotel toward the East and there is an unexpected bonus of a park and green space that is not often seen elsewhere in this area.
