... a ride on a gondola (€80 for 30 mins but that's for the boat, so get a group together and split the cost) which was on my bucket list too. Thick and fast now eh. It was so relaxing, one moment you're on the grand canal and the hubbub of the markets is making a racket in your ears, the next you've floated softly down a narrow canal where you can't hear another human being and can relax in your own world. We left this morning at 9.30am to visit these islands. The first one (Murano) is known for its first class glass manufacturing. Then visited the shop - the most beautiful glasswares and jewellery but very expensive. We then went on ...

No complaints from the cheap seats! ...

... return our zippy Alhambra to Europcar. We walked across the parking lot and we were now right back in the same place as when we arrived Sept. 4th, 25 days ago! We grabbed a water taxi and headed on to the island.

Once there we decided to walk around and get lost...actually we were going to walk around, getting lost is just expected...

We got to St. Mark's square, we took a last look, people watched for a while and then parked our butts into some chairs at ...

... expensive masks. These were the truly remarkable masks... we saw one for 1,100euro! But it was absolutely perfect! It was white with gold metal work around the eyes and spanning maybe half a foot around the top of the head. There were pearls and jewels hanging from the sides like earrings and feathers behind the beautiful metal headdress. It was absolute, over-the-top, Venetian beauty.

But before making it to the shop (since it wasn't open until the tourist ...
