... have these short trips across The canal at major bridge crossing.I guess they are sort of paying homage to the days when there were only gondolas transporting people around these water ways. Fun fact : there are currently 500 gondolas in Venice. There used to be 5000. another fun fact: there are two rats for every one person in Venice. This is improved situation from Paris where there are FOUR for every person. We learnt this because we actually saw a ...

It has been an enjoyable and interesting visit to Venice as our hotel was very close to the Rialto Bridge (about three hundred metres as the crow flies), about a five minute walk and seven gelato shops by alleyways! Week Five: Final Morning in Venice

So tired but we still have not found the perfect Murano piece of glass. Where is that shop we
purchased our glass from 5 years ago? We love that piece! I am determined to find it! Getting from the cruise terminal/port to a vaparetto stop is an expensive, a somewhat complicated proposition, and a very long walk to ...

Our first day in Venice started somewhat cloudy, a little chilly, and with rain in the forecast. Gino showed us the way to the train station and by 9:30 we were standing in Venice.

Our hosts were correct, the moment you walk out of the train station you are in another world. The scene on the front steps of the train station is stunning. Even the morning rush hour was something to behold - boats of every ...
