    ... had gone home but our key was on the front desk. Our room is small with no view but has a fridge and a lock up facility etc.
    So, we went for a wander. The canal is at the end of the narrow little alley and as I poked my head round the end to admire the view, a police boat went past so fast it created a huge wash and I got drenched with sea water. Welcome to Venice! ...

    ... the arena. Just across the way was the Blue Mosque. This is not its real name, but so called because of the many blue tiles inside. This is a working mosque so we had we remove our shoes, which we could place in a plastic bag to carry through the Mosque.
