... and some limoncello. Once back at waters edge we bumped into Edwina and Peter again and stopped to chat. They are a lovely couple, very easy to chat to. A Bellini and a Gin Fizz later and we were feeling very relaxed with the world! Hopped back on ferry to travel to Mennagio which was pretty but a lot quieter than Bellagio. Back on ferry again (only about 10 mins each time) to visit Varenna. Shared a pizza and beer before heading back home on ...

I'm hoping that that's only because when Google Maps comes across a tunnel, they automatically assume that pedestrians aren't allowed through it. Hoping... But doing a little research I found that there's supposed to be a hiking trail up towards the pass. That would be perfect... if I can find it! I follow a rather pedestrian ...

... winding pedestrian streets full of people, pausing to treat myself to a delicious pastry. It feels like I've reached the final frontier trading post before launching out into the wild. My favorite spot is the rushing river cutting right through the middle of town, with houses perched atop the giant boulders along its banks, with a statue of a saint giving his blessing to those who pass. I try to figure out the best way to take my video clip ...
