... the railway station.
We arrived back in Brindisi just after 4.30 pm. We spent some time at the apartment waiting for our laundry delivery to arrive. Later that evening we headed into town for a bbq meal of sausages and steak at “Escosazio” located at Piazza Mercato. The kids very much enjoyed this restaurant which was also very popular with the locals. After that it was home for some rest.
... safe platform. I knew that was the only way I was getting down and eventually went for it. The feeling while in the air was great, the touchdown in the water was horrific. I had previously been sunburnt pretty bad on my butt, this also happened to be the largest point of contact with the water. I thought my legs had stopped working I was in so much pain I couldn't feel them. I now have matching bruises and hopefully a memory to encourage me to not do ...
... fitted the bill today, an Asahi to share and a plate of sashimi....very refreshing and NO BREAD INVOLVED!
I have to say we really have been looking for a fantastically amazing bread shop but none to be found. Just really basic bread and so hard and dry. You can go into one of these shops to see people lining up for cellophane bags of dried bagels and dried foccacia and other dried breads!! The little cakes ...
... we found another one around the corner and booked in there for 8.15 pm and made our way back to our cafe for a bottle of prosecco before dinner. I ordered a secondi course of veal as Neil did with mushrooms, and Helen had a pasta, but I really didn't enjoy the veal, think I will stick to pastas. The food in the South is very different to the Northern fare, and I think so far I prefer the Northern Italian food.
Back to the trulli cottage, and so to bed.
Fast sail all the way over to Otranto and even had the fun of Dolphins playing at the helm. Busy shipping lanes overnight kept us all on our toes and Eric plenty of time to practise his lights. Winds were so favourable we headed on South to M.Saint Di Leuca still arriving by 3pm in time for a cocktail on shore before getting Ellis already for next early departure ...
