Hotel Sol e Mar Albufeira

We stayed at the hotel Sol e Mar for one week. The location is fantastic, We stayed on the top floor and had a gorgeous view of the deep blue sea, but that is where it ended, the buffet breakfast was poor,but the evening meal was just unacceptable for a 4 star hotel.If only the food was nice it would really be worth its 4 stars!

just returned from staying at the sol e mar (2/10/04), it aint the ritz, then neither are the prices! the location has to be the best in Albufeira with incomparable views over the Atlantic if it was any closer to the stunning beach your cap would float!

Stayed on a b&b basis, which was adequate without being challenging (fresh fruit and juices would have been nice). Staff pretty efficient and friendly espescially if you make the effort to be friendly to them. Rooms V. good excellent bathrooms, entertainment geared to the older visitor, not our cup of tea, but the hotel is next to the old town square with something for everyone.

Knockout value for money, would reccomend to anyone wanting a beach holiday or as a base.

me and two other friend visted sol e mar for a week and we hated it. The hotel didnt meet our expectations of a four star hotel and should have been classed as a three or even two star hotel. the food was poor with only a small variety of choice, with no variety for vegeterians. staff were rude and favoured the elder customers over all young people who were made to feel unwelcome. there was hardly any entertainment, we resorted going out for entertainment instead. the only positive thing i have to say about sol e mar, is that it has a good location

The Sol e Mar has a perfect location with a lift that on the ground floor goes virtually on to the beach, and on the top floor brings you out at the top of one of the main streets in Albufeira. There are lots of great restaurants in easy walking distance and dozens of shops and bars. The hotel has the sort of character that you don't find in the larger hotels, and rooms are a generous size with air conditioning and balconies. For these reasons I would recommend the Sol e Mar - but with some reservations. Breakfast was disappointing for example, it included (but wasn't limited to) tinned fruit in syrup. Not so much as a fresh orange. In a 4 star hotel in an area which produces fruit??? What more can I say? Indoor pool - I didn't see anyone using it. Basic. No outdoor pool. Good job theres a lovely clean beach!

We have visited the Hotel two years running and our holiday was excellent. The P.R. Wilma and Management plus all of the Staff worked really hard for all the Hotel visitors. We will never forget

Christmas Day food and entertainment. Well worth a visit.

old town albufeira - hotel sol e mar. on front all rooms have balconies overlooking sea. promenade to beach. good location. not suitable for anyone who is not too mobile as town is very hilly. staff,rooms,service at hotel excellent - food good. Good night life but younger people might prefer the new town!

We have stayed at the Sol E Mar on two visits to Albufeira and the excellent standards for food, cleanliness has been maintained. The dining room provides Hot and Cold meals for breakfast and dinner on a buffet type service and the dinner menu changes every day, the breakfast however is the same each morning. The hotel provides in house entertainment most nights, if that do's not suit you are just a few steps from the town center where street entertainment is free for all.

The staff are very efficient and polite headed by the the Lady in charge WILMA, she is a pearl! Make yourself known to her, you will be delighted.

We stayed at the Hotel Sol e Mar for Christmas, the position was excellent, the food very good and the staff friendly. We would definately go back to this hotel.

My husband and I have spent several holidays at the Sol E Mar, and have enjoyed them all. The hotel is friendly and welcoming, with a choice of good food and comfortable rooms. Its location in Albufeira is second to none, right on the beach. We love to walk on the cliff tops, stroll around the old town or hop on a bus to visit places further afield. In the evenings after dinner we can relax in the bar knowing there will be plenty of company and some sort of entertainment. We will be interested to see the further development of the new marina when we visit again in March next year.

The hotel was in a brilliant location - right on the beach. the food was excellent, a different menu for the 14 nights we were there and the staff were very helpful and polite. All rooms have a sea view and are very spacious. I would recommend this hotel.
