    ... the easiest way up through the brambles. With Roger giving us a hand up and Bill supervising from the "rear"...we all managed to scramble up each obstacle as we approach the flank of the ridge. Then we began the climb over the stoney mountain side. There are often some parts of the hike when you focus more carefully on where you will make each footstep than admiring the scenery. There was time to admire the view later.

    ... 5 KM with 4 good hills, building in intensity as the walk progressed so we got a bit of cardio training. Normal pace allowed us to cover the distance in about an hour, just in time to find our breakfast juice waiting!

    ... behind the lorry I'd been overtaking onto the hard shoulder... My wheel was severely damaged but everything else was ok. Some guys came and checked how I was and then returned to an accident the other side, and wearing my luminous vest I put on the spare whilst the thunderous drone of traffic continued to rumble by.
