We left Venice early Thursday morning and arrived in Ulmi by noon. Pina had the mid-day meal ready and we have been eating ever since. ... 8211; the sky was blue…and yes, the birds were singing! The town is quaint and quiet and beautiful and just plain ol’ delightful. We had a coffee and tea (kids had a latte) one block from the beach. We headed to the beach and sat there for four hours in the sun, on a blanket over looking the sea. We drank wine, ate cheese and pastrami sandwiches and watched the kids have so much fun.

... all that said, I do want to summarize what has been a set of irritations here for the past month.
We are in an apartment above a family of five. One of the reasons we chose the apartment was the lure from the owner – we shall call him Mr. U, that his children love to play and are the same age as our children and “can’t wait to spend time with our kids” – well…that’s been a bust.
