THE LOLLIE

At Toulouse we stayed in a hotel called Privilege. It is a pretty small room for four people so it's a bit messy. At the castle of carcassone in carcassone we bought a bag of lollies with: marshmallows, sour straps,gummy frogs and bears,chewing gum and red liquorice! TASTY.
We still haven't eaten all of the lollies though.

... whatever there is for us to see here that's within walking distance. It turns out, a lot. And it's another beautiful warm day.

Steve, Tim, Jill, Peter, Sue and I started out at the Monument aux Morts and walked south through the trees along Allees Verdier, the Grand Rond at Boulingrin, and Allee Frederic Mistral to the Jardin des Plantes which is a lot like the arboretum at Dow's Lake in Ottawa: Lots of different specimens of trees.

we spent the day sight seeing including a guided walking tour. Our feet are just about done. We are also in a slight panic about taxis in the morning since we need to be there by 5 am, and we have 11 people, each with a bag and 10 bikes. Hopefully it will all work out. I am attaching some pictures from Toulouse, France's fourth largest city, which includes a university, the second oldest in France which has over 100,000 ...

Next time you go to the NAC, give a wave to the blond French horn player, and if any of her colleagues are reading this I can tell you that she faithfully had her mouthpiece with her throughout the trip.

Well, sad to say our adventure is over. Today started with a group picture, then Tom led us out of town. As we cleared the edge of the city the group tok off as though there was free beer at the other end. I suggested to Carole that we adopt a more comfortable pace and she and I slowed down to a more leisurely L 4 pace, cycling between 26 and slightly over 30 kph.
