On Saturday we went for another beautiful morning walk in the country before being picked up by my brother-in-law to go to Maribor. It was a very pretty and slightly sketchy drive on fairly narrow Slovenian roads but we got there in one piece. We walked to the town square and checked out a really neat market with local vendors selling their art, food and clothing etc. Maribor is filled with old buildings that have many stories to tell, and I had great fun exploring ...

They say the Tragorje rivals Switzerland. Well, I am not really sure about that, not having seen much of the ...

    ... the castle sits.
After the orientation walk some of us headed out to Vintgar Gorge, which is about 3.5km from Bled, through lovely open Alpine countryside, dotted with lovely traditional chalets complete with balconies.
The gorge itself was spectacular - about 1.6km long, with a river and waterfalls flowing and tumbling over the rocks. Stunning. Given that ...

... an item in the house every day since the break up. However, some stories were really sad. There was one about a woman who had watched her husband be murdered, got depression but came through it by writing a book and the saddest, for me, was one that said I only realised how much you loved me and why you wouldn't sleep with me when you died a few years later from HIV. A fascinating museum that we thoroughly enjoyed. Zagreb is quaint and has a unique charm for ...
