We were guests of our dear friend Frenki, and his wife Barbi near the town Planina pri Sevnici. The first time I was in this part of Slovenia, and I can honestly say that nature of the region delight me.

Amazing Skocjan caverns in Slovenia

... with such a small opening, one that cannot deal with the enormous volume of water that pours into the cave after heavy rainfall, water levels within the canyon have risen to depths of 100 meters (above the level of the bridge in the picture)!

We couldn’t take photographs while inside so the few I include here are from the internet. We were able to take photos as we emerged for the final km or so hike back to the bus, so those are mine.
