... 8212;we spent the first part of our day cruising on the Aegean Sea in our very own mini-yatch, occasionally stopping to dive in the water. Our guide and expert to Turkey, Zafer, showed us around protected inlets of Bodrum, serving as a natural, undeveloped habitat for endangered seals. The second half of our day was spent wading through the sea to get to another ancient castle, which we then climbed of course.

... entrance and exit there were energetic touts selling everything including "Genuine Fake Watches": this was literally on signage and being said by the vendors. Eli found this hilarious since he is fond of the sarcastic crack “real genuine fake” fur/leather/smiles etc.

... teachers (two retired), two statisticians, oh and ME, the complete derelict of the group - the youngest, unemployed and burden on society. I'm actually okay with that <grin>.

Tomorrow we take a 20 minute ride from Kusadasi to the ancient city of Ephesus and then back to Kusadasi for our last night in Turkey.

... where we have we have been staying. Our room has an ocean view and a balcony. Oh, and I must mention that it has a bathtub - pure luxury. I love baths but have only been able to shower for the majority of our trip (there was one in Slovenia). This bathtub is so large - there was one in Pamukkale, but it must have been for a child (it was so short and narrow) and really not pleasant.

... impressive structure in this area is the library. It was the 3rd most important library in the world at the time, with the one in Alexandra being the largest. Books were scrolls and customs duty at the time was often paid by presenting a scroll. When competition between the libraries grew, Egypt stopped the export of papyrus so the others had to find their own ‘paper’.
