It has a fair population of deer, and rabbits too.
Sunset at Chidiya Tapu
Its not the most impressive of sunsets...The sunsets over the island and not over the ...
... our plane tickets for an early morning flight to Sri Lanka later that night. Since it was getting late and we just packed up our India guidebook, we just wandered around the area near the post office to find a guest house. Despite there being many guesthouses, though they seemed to be targeted towards locals and not foreigners, there were no vacancies. We must have walked around for over an hour, up and down stairs, tired and hungry, only be to told, "full." Just ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India carrienica05... reminder. So we were taken back to the top of the bazaar where we had originally started our Tut-Tut journey. He smile and said $10.00 US for the return trip. The original trip was $2.00 US. Again we negotiated a price, I settled on $4.00 US as we had taken a longer ride back and had seen a little more of the sights of the town. This accomplished we began our journey down the bazaar to the traffic circle at the bottom of the hill. This was where are shuttle would pick us up and ...
Port Blair, India danharriet... its bones are made of rubber and it has a blind spot for buses. Another flea bag dog we encountered in El Dorado used to hang around the huts looking for leftovers. He disappeared one afternoon and nobody really noticed, until about an hour later when we heard some shouting in Hebrew, and saw the dog being chased out of an Israeli's bed. That's what happens when you leave the hut door open... The guy took his mattress out of his room and ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India moronsontour... somewhere half abandoned. The unit itself was alright, but we ended up moving to Pristine later and our two-story bamboo hut there was a thousand times better and had a beach view for the same money. Not to mention the fact that we were staying at Pristine, by far the coolest place on the planet. Alex, the owner, might be the nicest and funniest person alive, and his resort is a gathering place for a reason. I'm planning to go back to Havelock every winter and I'll be ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India ninedeuce... kolesi kar dober trening.
Port Blair, India m_in_t_travels... boarded (However, with a little help from the hotel we did manage to secure the tickets for the 12:00 pm ferry). An additional source of discomfort was that we did not know the size and make of the ferry and the facilities on the jetty (esp since we had a 2.5 year old baby girl with us). We joked and conjectured about the many dilapalated ferries standing on the (clean and neat and no smell) jetty while in each of our minds we were concerned about the 4 hour trip ...
Havelock Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India garima.bansal... all who land here that the Andaman is not just another island with lovely beaches and lots of sun. Which is what really makes this place so much more captivating and worthy of a visit. The footprints of history are as clear here as at the most significant places in the life of our country. More on that later. For the while, we are just happy to be in Port Blair - happier still to see the sun shining on us. Outside the airport, we are met by our travel ...
Port Blair, India p.rajesh... its course they would explain that they were over in the Andamans for a week on holiday because it was the furthest, and therefore most prestigious, destination in India. Apart from the occasional stroll on the beach, I never saw any of these Indians outside their hotel rooms. They would sit in these rooms (or luxury air-conditioned concrete 'huts') all day long, making only the occasional appearance at mealtimes and are certainly not to be found doing any of the activities that ...
Neil Island, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India jasonhep... we shared a coconut and breakfast was concluded. I walked down to the calm sea and drifted in oblivion in the warm waters for half an hour. After the hellish night all had returned to a tropical paradise once more. It didn't seem like long before a distant chugging could be discerned and the outline of a long-hulled fishing boat could be seen. Adventure over, we headed back on the boat for two hours to reach Havelock during which time I fell asleep in the sun and woke up with sea ...
