in Zermatt I went to explore the town and find somewhere nice for dinner. The
high street is extremely beautiful and well kept and full of typical Swiss
of the buildings are old Swiss concrete style buildings with balcony's and
wonderful artwork etc. but most are constructed of wood and are made in many
shapes and sizes.

As I negotiate the twists and turns up this pass its getting colder every mile. Soon a few drops of rain fell and then it turned to light snow and hail. A terrible freezing wind was blowing and looking at the road surface one could see the hailstones being blown across the surface making it rather slippery.

... the vans and drove to a train station where the vans were driven (with us inside) onto a car train ferry which travelled through a mountain to Tasch where we unloaded the vans, left them in a parking area and caught a train to Zermatt. Here a hotel porter stashed the bags into an electric car and we were able to walk to the hotel unencumbered to arrive at our incredible accommodation used by Captain's Choice Tours. Saw some more marmots on the ride down towards Zermatt. I was getting quite good at spotting them in the end (and no, they weren't mailboxes).
