... to see white snow every where. We came across where the kids were sledding and talked to a chap who let Liam borrow his sled. He thought it was just the best thing ever. You could hire sleds so we decided to catch the later train and for €7.00 Liam sled his little heart out. Rob & I couldn't miss a chance either. Liam is such a dare devil, it doesn't take him long to get the hang of things, then he tries all different maneuvers not caring if he crashes. I asked him ...

Yep, that's pretty chilly. The first time we went, it was cold, but one that you could stand. I didn't have enough gear with me for this one, so we rolled up to the observation platform, Bill ran out took some pictures and down the cable cars we went back to the relative warmth of town. ...

... balconies, beautiful wildflowers & easy walking wth wondeful views of the snow mountains.  Refuge Bethone was crowded, but some of us had a good room with our own bunk & a bathroom!!! Dinner was very communal, lots of pasta, bread & wine. Julie & I had to stop twice on the way back from the dinner hut to our hut. A very social night ...

      Bethone to Elena

Oops, no notes again! Refuge Elena quite new and modern. Large dorms but partitioned into bunks of 4. Located on a high ridge overlooking the valley, where we had a long break and arvo tea. Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...
