It wasn't really cold up the mountain, about 3º C and the sun was out, to wear snow gear one could have been over dressed!. There hasn't been a fall of snow in the past week so the snow wasn't fresh and quite icy and there were a few incidents of slipping over.
It was certainly worth the trip up to this place for a inexpensive day of fun, and no churches ...
... sounds familiar. We were greeted in our Chalet by the Jeffcotes who were in very high spirits after their 32 hr journey to Verbier via London. We were also greeted by Zara and Charlotte who are our amazing chef and hostess - more about them later.

Oops, no notes again! Refuge Elena quite new and modern. Large dorms but partitioned into bunks of 4. Located on a high ridge overlooking the valley, where we had a long break and arvo tea. Met some interesting groups of Italians, see the funny hats. It seems that all of Italy has these 2 weeks off, so the trails and refuges are full. Dinner in a lovely dining room, food pasta as usual. ...
