... all around the area. David and I took many pictures. In some areas they had photographs of the destruction that took place in WWII. The photos showed the before and after reconstruction. Visited two Catholic churches that had been reconstructed as they once were. The architecture shows the influence of Dutch.
Our time is up and we must return to the airport.

... and I couldn't stop taking pictures. We meandered through the city along the canals for a few hours. There was no aim to our wandering and we ended up a bit disoriented by dusk. (The sun doesn't go down until 10:30 here!) As soon as we found the hotel again we practically ran to our rooms to go to bed in order to have enough energy to explore Amsterdam tomorrow!

We obviously missed the sign for the city centre train and ended up walking for ages until we got to an information desk where we were told to go back the way we had come, and downstairs to the S train on platform one. ... And... when I arrived at the platform, they said the ICE to Frankfurt was cancelled >.<
Next train was going 3 minutes later, so no problem. However, I did have to change trains in Cologne in order not to have too much of a delay. The connecting train was already there and it looked like it was going to be a smooth process. This train ended up having a delay of 20-30 minutes because of defects. But it got me to ...
