The long flooded roads of Sardinia

... have a serious little challenge on my hands. As we speak the Alps are
also having problems at the moment with the weather. The lower parts are flooded
and the upper passes are snowed under so roads from all angles are closed.
Problem I now have is getting through there without having closed roads slammed
in my face every half hour.
I could stick to motorways and get to Amsterdam within two days but 1000
miles on m/way is just way too boring so i ...

      Villach to Zagreb

... Zagreb to start a tour of Croatia and Bosnia. We shared a chuckle at the size of the gentleman's suitcase as his wife told us he refuses to wear the same shirt more than once on vacation. I guess he is a diva packer just like Ryan. Ryan says it is because his clothes are bigger than mine so they take up more room. But the truth is he just likes to have lots of options. After chatting with them we exchanged emails and have invitations to house ...

Today we farewell Salzburg! Our plans were clear and simple. Leave our hotel by taxi to train station. Catch train at 10.12am to Villach . Once in Villach alight and take the bus to Venice. Simple! Not so simple if you miss the name of the station you are supposed to get off and just sit there chatting! Suddenly, as the train is pulling out from the station....Sheree said..Oh, aren't we supposed to get off at Villach! Look around for Tanya and Tony....they have ...

      Another Great Campsite

A travel blog entry by rolandandlinda on Sep 19, 2014

... br> Walked from the campsite in Obervellach NW to Radnig,
then a Natursschwimmbad, then a waterfall. The falls were very beautiful but
unfortunately the waterflow was not large. Saw lots of autumn crocii and also
cyclamen. Back down a river to Hermagor where we called in at the
café/patisserie for a coffee and a piece of apfeltorte + cream for Ro (a little
naughty just before lunch). Walked ...
