We have arrived in Delhi, India. It was a long and boring 14 hour flight - lots of movies watched, unsuccessful snoozing (snoring guy beside me)and ok food. We flew Air India - an ok airline with ok service. We were seated in the exit row (our choice) which had the one (in facebook, click Read Entry to see entire entry and pictures)....
So this is our first official bog entry from India. I had hoped it might be sooner than today but it took a while to get to Kolkata and become settled. We flew into Delhi on Dewali (the festival of lights) where our plane was almost hit by thousands of fireworks. The city sounded like a warzone and smelled of gunpowder for the whole next day.
... amp; horsemen. Badi gufa, the largest cave, has a broad entrance, nine tiny rooms & several pillars. It's been dated back to the 10th century. The cave appears to be primitive, lacking the elaborate statues & carvings seen in the caves of the Buddhist period. Its purpose remains a mystery.

... which is a plus. The women who run it are so kind. At breakfast they joined us and chatted with us and it turns out they adopted two girls from the Mother Teresa orphanage which is cool because that's where we are going to go volunteer. And they have the sweetest dog named Mordu, which means happiness in Hindi. It is just lovely.
In the morning we went out and explored Delhi. We took our first metro ride ...
... concept that mother of the groom isn't suppsed to Pop out on the photos....not at an Indian wedding at least. Cameback to the hotel to not one but 4 power outtages .-shocking at first when you don't have windows Lights, air and the use of an elevator. Rich delhiis magnificent. Neice victoria put us onto a magnificent and very expensive shopping a store s of old saris. ....But the 500 price tag was a stopper ... really nice store. ...
