So this is our first official bog entry from India. I had hoped it might be sooner than today but it took a while to get to Kolkata and become settled. We flew into Delhi on Dewali (the festival of lights) where our plane was almost hit by thousands of fireworks. The city sounded like a warzone and smelled of gunpowder for the whole next day.

We then had a rickshaw ride organised to take us through the mental alleyways of the marketplace, known as Chandi Chowk. Our rider was so good – how he didn't crash into anything I'll never know. It was a great way to take in the busy crazy streets of Old Delhi.

... a marvelous, spectacular production. One didn't need to speak Hindi to follow the plot line, but even if you couldn't follow along, the singing and dancing alone provided plenty of entertainment. From the colorful costumes to the amazing props and the lively Bollywood music that made you want to jump off your seat and start shaking your booty, it was magical!!!
