Last night attempted our first dining experience and managed to order the food and wine we actually wanted! Chose the right time to be out and about as rain started just after our return to the apartment. Elspeth (Manager of the apartments) drove Ron to arrange a hire car for a week as from Thurs. so we should get to see some very interesting countryside. Zell is set in the Mosel Valley so when we caught a bus to a large shopping ...

After an exhausting trip we have arrived at our apartment in Zell and what a wonderful sight. We look out over the Mosel River at a very busy river moving vessels of all description and charming houses on the banks opposite. Zell is noted for it's wine growing and I guess we are going to help support the locals and try a few! ... full day of holidays. Tomorrow after check out, we head to Frankfurt airport via Eltville on the Rhine to visit where great, great, great grandfather Ignatz lived. The car is due back at 6pm, and we fly out to Singapore at 10pm. Barring pilot suicides and Ukranian missiles we get back to Sydney on Monday morning at 11:30. Will hopefully get a blog in from the airport tomorrow night just to finish things ...

Spent a couple of hours there, had a picnic by the river, and then had to have cake at a cafe on the riverbank. We returned to Zell, via a supermarket where we bought wine, cheese, sausage, olives, baguette etc etc to have dinner by the river. Sat down there until 9:30 watching people and boats go by. Nice ...

... showed up. In the meantime, we managed to put on every item we had purchased that day and had started doing squats and dances around the bus stop area, Eloise had even fashioned her new fluffy socks into gloves! I wont say we even tried flagging passers by but apparently no one wanted to stop! Demanding we pay for his drive to us, in addition to the fare (probably over $50Aus), we got out and called the guys.. Around 2.5 hours waiting in the freezing cold we made it ...
