        ... well against scenery, but with the leaves at the height of their colors, we actually blended in. Good thing none of us had to be rescued! :o)

        All in all, it was a great day. I'm sure my arms, shoulders and neck will remind me tomorrow how much fun it was, but it was well worth it. Just an absolutely great day to be on the water and in Japan!

        ... snow is actually that deep and the snowplows cut through it to keep the road open.

        The roads are narrow normally, but with the added snow, it was quite a thrill when faced with an oncoming bus or large truck. ...or the crazy fool who was driving too fast, saw me coming, hit the brakes too hard, slid sideways, BUT luckily over-corrected back ...
