      ... to work. But at a mention of the staring, the 12/13 year old agrees with me and is disgusted by it. She tells me a story of how she and a friend were walking home from school (in broad daylight) when this guy stares at them and begins following them. As any 12 year old might do with their chum, they walk on until it gets too weird and scary and then call the cops. As the guy realizes what they're doing he saunters off in haste. I'm aghast.       We then used the idea of circle time at the end of the day to keep them calm until it was time for them to have lunch. The students were still reluctant to say one thing that they didn't like about school although those who did answer said things like "I don't like the fighting at school" and "I don't like it when people use bad language at school", very interesting to hear coming from a 9 year old!
