We finally boarded the Shinkansen Bullet train and it is awesome! These trains are really first class. It seems like you are on an airplane inside, but it's a train. And it's such a smooth ride. We think it's very fancy! We arrived in Nagasaki which is on the island / part of Japan-of Kyushu. It is the southern most part of Japan. It is surrounded three parts by mountains and one part by sea. What's so interesting here is that on ...

There were many Hakata dolls here and the shop owner showed us many samples and told us about their history and some details about their production. ... and art pieces are on show inside. We also ran into another couple celebrating their marriage and they allowed us to take a photo of them. The bride was wearing a beautiful kimono.

We finished off, what was a long day, by riding the loop bus around the town before getting the tram (trolley car) back to our stop and walking back to our hotel.

Hope the sun keeps shining. We had our jumpers off for the first time in weeks!

    A truly great day.

... been my new spar but the sushi I buy is so disgusting I have to leave it, it involved chicken skin. I spent the afternoon on the roof where there is a sofa and eventually engage in a long conversation about politics with someone who works for the E.U in Brussels. No. I have no idea what I was talking about either. Tomorrow is Kyoto. This, I am hoping will be the highlight of my trip. And I am going to eat something which isn't rice, noodles or chicken skin for ...
