... really early here - 4:30 a.m. and goes down at 6:30 p.m. They do not do daylight savings time here. The sun is very bright and beautiful. Haven't gone to a Starbucks or McDonalds yet even though I saw 2 of them. The weather here in Sendai area has been sunny, warm at plus 22 - 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity has been 65 - 85 ...

Made a short stop in Bebai just outside of Saporro so Thom could have a few private moments with the plane, but not before the gaggle of reporters and photographers waiting for us to land got their interviews. Samurai Houses and a paradise bay

We left the Onsen in the morning and went back to Kakunodate to visit the Samurai houses. At the station you can always leave the baggage in coin lockers, so we could make the walk through the town in a more relaxed way.

Unfortunately it was pouring rain that we became wet - even with the umbrellas and were happy to get inside these samurai houses. They are very big, some of them even free of charge to visit
