2 August: Day 6

My morning started with a brisk walk around the ancient town of Viviers! Boy is this an old, quiet town!!! ************e out! The streets are small and narrow and you can walk the length of the town in under 20 mins! But it had a great charm to it! I also got to experience another beautiful sunrise!

We headed south to Burgogne. - or Burgandy as we English call it. A special friend kindly said "ma maison est ta maison". Or as we English say: "my house is your house" !!!! Can you believe it? We were lent a house in the middle of France, a wonderful old farmhouse in a meadow all to ourselves for as long as we wanted! We felt like we were dreaming when we arrived and made ourselves at home.

Today we had a tour to Boucieu-le-Roi which is a small and old French town of about 300 people, high in the hills. It was about 30 minutes' drive from Tournon where our ship docked overnight. The journey to the village was very winding and, in places very narrow and hilly. It was best not to look out of the window of the huge bus to see just how close we came to the steep drop below.
