... Finally! We rented a kayak from Benjamin and paddled around the cove with Tanka in the middle. I started paddling so Paul could help keep Tanka from jumping but he did well after a bit, mostly wanting to get out when we’d near the pelicans.

... we also visited a rehab for sea turtles, and scrubbed the armpits of a loggerhead and two black turtles. the turtles were massive, weighing more than me and tina put together, and then some. they can live to 100 years, though the ones we scrubbed were in their early 20s. the interior of baja is all desert, much of it recieving only 1 inch of rain a year. it is amazing to me that many different plants and animals manage to survive in such arid ...
